Cape town palms

Voy Kay 17 Jan 2020

Been to Cape town four times in my life (never for vacation!) and once visited the National park at the Cape where the Indian and the Atlantic oceans meet. Rough seas for sure in that area but also lots of palm trees. For this painting, I kept the palm trees yet soothed the oceans and coloured sea and sky far more flashy. This morning, a brand new set of brushes (4 pig hair brushes of 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 inch, about 4 USD in total) arrived from China and I used them for sky and sea, giving that special bristled effect.
The canvas used was a 10"x12" prepared with liquid white. Most difficult was .... not really anything. The sky, the sea and the palm trees were sheer joy and fun. Hope you will like this personal interpretation of Bob's 'Ocean sunset'!
